We have been busy all over the districts readying our grassroots movements to kick into gear for what is shaping up to be a spirited Presidential election year. As we move from the summer into fall, I hope to see as many of you as possible at our upcoming meetings. Some folks that cannot make the Foxborough RTC meetings show up to help in various ways, at the polls, sign-hold, make calls, and give what you can to the candidates. Your personal commitment and sacrifice to the party and the candidates is necessary and appreciated. I urge each of you to reflect on what you can give to the Foxborough Republican Town Committee, whether it is your time, talent, and monetary donation. Our group has had a strong voice helping to elect U.S. Senator Scott Brown and our State Representatives.

I know I don't have to tell you that our nation is in turbulent times. We must re-elect U.S. Senator Scott Brown and take the White House back. We can have an impact on the outcome if we all work together to strengthen our personal commitment to the cause. You see, the future of our nation does not rest solely on the shoulders of the candidates.

It is up to you and I to build on what we have achieved thus far.

I look forward to seeing you all at our meetings this Fall when we will sign our names to be on the ballot as a town committee and make a commitment together!

My very best to you,

Angela F. A presentation was made by the Foxborough Republican Town Committee in the form of four maximum campaign donations that were presented to State Representative Jay Barrows, State Representative Elizabeth Poirier, State Representative Richard Ross, as well as State Senator Scott Brown in his bid for U.S. Senate.

U.S. Senate Candidate Scott Brown also noted in his remarks to a crowd of over 300 guests at Lake Pearl that Davis's regional signature hub for his campaign just completed gathering over 2200 signatures for him to get onto the ballot, the top gathering in the state!

“Massachusetts has had a long tradition of sending folks down to Washington to help build our nation. We need Scott Brown to go to Washington to save our nation.” Davis announced. Scott Brown is running as the Republican Challenger on January 19, 2010 in the special election for U.S. Senate.

“We feel as a Town Committee it is one of our strategic goals to financially support those Republicans who fight the good fight on Beacon Hill, all of these hard working Reps. are running because they believe in small government, are opposed to government bailouts, new programs and increased taxation. They know people in the state are concerned about jobs and the economy.” said Davis.

Charlie Baker kicks off the Fall in Foxborough!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 291px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_zZPMug-Hrlw/SvBE_Sw6WsI/AAAAAAAAACQ/FrfYLDcWCuA/s400/CB+Baker+Gesture+A.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5399891807376661186" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 168px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_zZPMug-Hrlw/SvBE_PcZ3KI/AAAAAAAAACI/z7LcNhUg0s0/s400/CB+Baker+w+Signs.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5399891806485339298" />

Hosted by the Foxborough RTC, and co-sponsored by our friends: Mansfield RTC, Norton RTC, Dover RTC and Walpole RTC, Charlie Baker, Candidate for Governor kicked off the year for us at the Lafayette House September 24, 2009. For six years he hosted a nationally syndicated weekend talk radio program, which started in March of 2003. Todd got the radio bug while in college, working as a newscaster, DJ, and eventually the General Manager of WMFO, the 100 watt FM station at Tufts University.
While he preferred radio to academics from his first day behind the mic, the books were left pretty far behind for good when the station was destroyed by fire during his junior year. Todd was too busy getting the station back on the air - within hours, at a new location on campus using equipment donated from a commercial Boston radio station (thanks to radio legend Arnie the Woo Woo Ginsburg) and records donated by listeners - to pay too much attention to text books anymore. After graduating from Tufts University by the skin of his teeth with a degree in political science, Todd became an international chemical trader with Sobin Chemical in Boston, focusing on trade with China. Two years later, he left the family business to pursue a career in radio.
Todd worked as a disc jockey, news director and beautiful music announcer before spending two years as a helicopter traffic reporter in Boston. Then came a career change, as Todd entered the restaurant business. It was his wife's business, Rosalie's Restaurant in Marblehead, Massachusetts, that distracted Todd from his radio passion. Rosalie's, already a very popular spot, became insanely busy when it was featured in a TV commercial for credit card giant VISA in 1986 - one of the first in their "they don't take your American Express Card," series. Ten years later, they got out of the business, exhausted - and after a year of recovery, Todd returned to radio.
Todd has spent the past twelve years in the talk radio field, working at stations around New England. In 2003 he joined WRKO, which has been Boston's dominant talk station since the early 1980's. Todd hosted evenings and late mornings there before the move to mornings in January. Todd has toured the Middle East several times since September 11, visiting Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman. In 2005, he spent 6 weeks as a long term substitute teacher in an urban middle school so that he could gain some first hand experience with the public schools. Todd has been named three times to Talkers Magazine's list of the Top 100 Most Important Talk Hosts in America.
Born and raised in Lexington, Todd has always lived in the Greater Boston area, except for a year at the University of Denver. Todd currently lives with his wife, Rosalie, on Boston's North Shore.

Holly Robichaud
Holly Robichaud has over 18 years experience in managing campaigns at the local, state, and federal levels. She has worked with the Republican National Committee, the National Republican Congressional Committee and the National Republican Senatorial Committee. In her home state of Massachusetts, she has served as Chief of Staff for the House Republican Leader’s office and worked as Research Director for the State Treasurer.
Over eight years ago, Holly started her own political consulting firm specializing in strategy, direct mail fundraising, voter contact programs, and fundraising. As a fund-raiser Holly has set records for statewide, Congressional and local campaigns, and Political Action Committees. Her grassroots fundraising and direct mail campaigns have received national recognition. In 1998, she was selected as a “Rising Star” by Campaigns and Elections magazine.
Holly holds the record of having never lost a Special Election in the state of Massachusetts. In each case her clients overcame a 3 to 1 disadvantage in party registration. In the ultimate test of her skills one client overcame a 5 to 1 disadvantage.
In 1988, Holly was elected to the Massachusetts Republican State Committee, defeating a 20-year incumbent. When elected she was the youngest woman ever to hold that post. Presently, Holly is an instructor for several campaign schools including the National Federation of Republican Women, GOPAC, the Massachusetts Taxpayers PAC and Winning Campaigns magazine. She is a frequent lecturer on politics and campaigns and has been a political analyst on New England Cable News.
In 2006 Holly began writing a weekly political feature for The Boston Herald while serving as the paper's Republican political analyst. She also began co-hosting on Boston's talk radio station AM 680 WRKO and serving as a political analyst for FOX News. She is also a columnist for Winning Campaigns magazine and writes for various trade papers.
Holly earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Please make checks payable to
"Foxborough RTC"
mail to: Foxborough RTC, Treasurer
P.O. Graham worked the room and went around talking to each table prior to his remarks. He kicked off the event with his signature radio high-pitch intro voice, and the crowd roared.

He joked about his early days in campaign management when he fell into spearheading Buchanan's failed bid to be the party nominee for president. He laughed as he spoke about knowing nothing about politics until he took the job and realized he could make a living off off of his full time involvement. Then he went on to speak about the tax and spend liberals on Beacon Hill and how the future of politics depends on how Republicans decide to run for office.

He finished off the evening with a book signing, and was very gracious with his time.

It was an amazing event and Graham knows his Foxborough fans are anxious for his next visit!

Be sure to tune in to his show weekdays on 96.9FM, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

FULL HOUSE tonite!

TONITE'S EVENT IS SOLD OUT!!!!!

Foxborough Republican Town Committee is expecting a full house to kick off 2009
Welcoming Michael Graham to the Lafayette house. He has been a tireless advocate for our tri-town area, as evidenced by his 100% voting Record on Beacon Hill for the past two years. We are proud and thrilled to have Rep. Barrows on Beacon Hill working hard for us every day of the week!

*Also up is Jon Rockwood (R) of Walpole, a terrific candidate for State Senate, be sure to cast that vote for Rockwood. Jon and his wife Christy have been true community builders in their town of Walpole and Jon has put in much time here in Foxboro. We are very excited to have Rockwood on that November 4th ballot!

•Jeff Beatty (R), U.S. Senatorial candidate, taking on the Kerry Machine and if anyone watched his debate on NECN last week it was remarkable to see Jeff in action, clearly ready for the job and ready to go! Vote for Jeff! Dynamite candidate.

Lastly my friends, lets remember the McCain/Palin ticket. There is no better man to represent our country, defend our interests and rebuild our economy. In John McCain we trust and believe, and his running mate Sarah Palin is a formidable choice. A fulll-time working mom, clearly qualified and just the right choice to accompany McCain into office.

God Bless them all for putting themselves into these races, and the understanding that to serve this country is a noble and honorable call to action. To them we are all grateful and owe each of them a debt of gratitude.

My very best to you,

Angela F. F. The short list was comprised of names like Pawlenty, Romney, Ridge. I first heard terrific feedback about a "rising star" named Sarah Palin in the GOP back in the Spring of 2008. A good friend and a republican strategist in the party said to keep an eye on her. That she was a formidable challenger should she choose to start her ascension on the GOP ladder.

During the spring, I was busy along with many of my Massachusetts GOP colleagues launching Mitt Romney's Presidential bid. We held our weekly conference calls, did our grassroots work, did our phone banking, and when Mitt suspended his bid we were greatly disappointed.

Friday August 29, 2008 came as a powerful moment in our history. When a strong female republican leader had a place on a ticket.

Palin’s nomination reinforces an important point. There are many terrific GOP women out there, thousands of them, who have been around a long time. Why are they unnoticed? Perhaps the liberal media/bias is not interested in picking up stories about conservative women who are activists, leaders, and legislators in the country. As a Republican woman in Massachusetts, Governor Jane Swift can speak first hand to the miserable experience of having to tolerate the vicious attacks on her leadership, life choices, and family. In defense of this, could someone please tell me where all the "sisters" have gone? Where are my sisters? Where are all the feminist liberal women run organizations that should be crying “FOUL” and defending Palin. Are they that upset that they will not come out of hiding and support another sister because she is a Republican? Un-enrolled women between the ages of 30-50 should be outraged at the way Palin is being treated. She has been attacked, discriminated against, and scrutinized for her career choice, and the liberal media has fueled it. As far as I can see, whether you are a stay at home mom or a commute away from the office mom, we all work! No matter how you slice and dice it, it is work raising a family. It is also a personal choice as to how a mother chooses to engage in her work, and raise a family. What works in my home for my husband and I may not work for my neighbor. And the criticism women have endured for taking their personal choices is unfair, as Palin is proving. Power to Palin for changing diapers while she's on a conference call. She's what I like to refer to as a female warrior: a strong woman that can do anything! Show us a task, and we'll get it done. I am surrounded by women like that and impressed by their stamina, focus, and determination. Not to mention their intelligence and grace.

Palin possesses a wealth of leadership experience as a Governor, a mayor, a mom and PTO activist. As Governor she lowered taxes, consistently put money back into the wallets of her constituents, where it belongs, and said “NO” to the corporations and pork barrel spending. And with an approval rating of 85% in her own state who’s to say she doesn’t lead well? By the way, you can fit 5 Delawares inside Alaska! Further, Palin holds the key to drilling for oil. She understands and supports alternative energy sources, and she realizes that is a long term goal, which we need to methodically phase into our nation’s energy plan. And so in the interim, we need to increase domestic production and decrease our dependency on foreign sources.

Sarah is just like you and I.

And maybe that is was has energized the base and lit a fire in the bellies of us soccer moms.

She believes that the people’s will should be done. And we need to maintain our strength economically and defend our foreign interests. She understands the need to keep our nation safe from the terrorist attacks and warfare that some would wage on our soil. And that at the end of the day, we as parents have the right to choose the basic principals and values that are important to teach our children, that we are not leaving that to the public school system, and that sex education has no place in the K-4 curriculum.

Now that the economy and the wallstreet bailout has taken center stage, focus seems to have shifted temporarily away from the Palin phenomenon. The Wall Street and banking woes are concerning. It is particularly amusing (or not, pending on viewpoint) to see Congressional Rep. Barney Frank (MA) bad mouthing those involved in the foreclosure/mortgage crisis when he is the same fist banging Rep that spearheaded legislation to force lending and mortgages to individuals that should have been termed unqualified. Shame on him.

Make no mistake about it, though. The styrafoam columns are indeed back in the Hollywood studio and there are no props left for Obama to use. Camera is on him and there’s a heightened awareness of his liberal agenda and solutions to remedy our country’s greatest challenges.

Let me be clear: this is not a race about race. This is a race about taking our country in the right direction, successfully navigating the future of our economy, military, education and spending. Protecting the freedoms of our people and upholding the constitution in a constructionist methodology, not legislating from the bench.

This is about my children, your children, the elderly, the poor and middle class America. This is about people who have basic needs that are not being met.

The majority of soccer moms that I see on a weekly basis are excited about Palin and they want the McCain/Palin ticket to win.

It’s a ticket they can believe in.

It is change they can believe in.

Palin and McCain are that change, and we believe in them.

I am looking forward to January 21, 2009 when I can watch the inauguration with my daughter.

-Angela F. MRC is a media watchdog group that monitors the news outlets such as NPR, CBS and so on to expose media bias.

While youtube.com and other internet hot-spots are enjoying major attention, there are those slowly gaining momentum such as www.mediarearch.org and www.eyeblast.tv.

Of interest in terms of print media there are those that believe "The Economist" is a great way to further delve into what is happening in the world today that impacts all of us. To hear not just both sides of a debate domestically, but a universal and global perspective. For others, WSJ remains a good source. I am slowly chipping away at my stack of periodicals, I confess I am some months behind playing catch up. Time is a true commodity.

There is so much to learn from others, and I continue to have a profound and deep respect for my friends and colleagues who sit on many sides of various issues.

Important to note I have been enjoying long lived debate courtesy of the Feinsteins and their international off spring. On a daily basis we continue to debate oil dependency, increasing federal deficits & spending, the right to prosecute career criminals to the fullest extent of the law, defend ourselves, free speech, and health care. Through these debates and engaging of those who do not necessarily agree I am reflective on a daily basis about where the solutions and answers are. And how do we navigate the next 2, 5, 10-20 years as a super power, a nation of caring people and peaceful people. And how do we take care of our own nation, it's children, and elderly.

Perhaps it is worth reminding us all, in the end, we all want the same thing. Peace, health, prosperity, safety, community, and how do we arrive at a place that works for us all. We do live in a great nation, and the future of these issues is deeply influenced by the incoming administration and President.

That said, there is blatent bias from media, and until the silent few take their turn to speak up, the stories continue their spin cycles.........Clearly no lack of opinion out there, but a demonstrated lack of unbiased reporting.

Tim Russert left this earth and now there is a void. Peggy Noonan penned a great tribute to him in the WSJ soon after his passing and talked about Russert's outstanding virtues, and how he truly valued equal time, and an equality of approach. She was right. And looking back, it is such an enormous loss.
-Angela Forster Davis, Chair, Foxborough Republican Town Committee

Welcome to FOXBOROUGH RTC!

Welcome to the home site of the Foxborough Republican Town Committee.

We meet monthly to conduct the business of the Committee, hear from our elected officials, and those running for office.

It is the intention of this committee to discuss and debate issues, ignite activism, and get involved. Nobody knows better first hand how important this November election is than our own State Representative Jay Barrows (R). He is, simply put, a work horse and not a show horse. He has enjoyed a 100% perfect voting record since taking the oath of office back in 2006.
